Elastosal H 20

Two component contact adhesive free of chlorinated hydrocarbon and toluen
 
Uses: For the cold bonding of rubber conveyor belts, linings of receptacles, drums and cylinders as well as for the permanent elastic and high-strength bonding of rubber, metal, fabrics, leather and coated PU material with large and small surfaces and other materials.

Using the product:
1. Preparing the surface
Rubber: The surfaces to be glued must be completely clean, dry and free from grease and oils. Roughen surface using wire brush or similar device removing all shiny areas. Completely remove all roughing dust particles.
Conveyor belts: The surfaces to be glued must be clean, dry and free from grease and oils. Roughen surface using wire brush or similar device removing all shiny areas (take care not to burn fabric). Completely remove all roughing dust particles.
Metal: The surfaces to be glued must be completely clean, dry and free from grease, oil, rust and forging scales. Roughen surface by sandblasting or grinding. Next rinse using cleaning material (e.g. ELASTOSAL® Lösit H 20) and allow to dry. To increase strength, treat surface with ELASTOSAL® metal primer.
 
2. Mixing the product
Mixing ratio: ELASTOSAL® H 20 : ELASTOSAL® Hardener RE = 100 : 7 volume percent.
The usable life of the mixture in tightly closed buckets equals up to 3 hours.
 
3. Applying the product
Brushing: 2 to 3 brushings are required. Apply a thin, even coat to both surfaces being glued.
Drying: Allow first brushings to dry well (approx. 30 minutes). Allow last brushing to dry until slightly sticky when tested with the back of a finger. If completely dry, apply a further brushing.
 
4. Joints
Align all joints and join by applying strong contact pressure (e.g. by using a roller). Important: Adhering surfaces must be in complete contact with each other.
The best conditions for using the product are 25°C and 30 - 75% relative humidity.
Caution: Compensate for extreme conditions such as cold weather, spells, rain etc. through precautionary measures i.e. additional roofing and warm air supply etc.
 
Danger notices and safety recommendations: ELASTOSAL® H 20 contains ethyl acetate, benzene and cyclohexane and is highly inflammable. Keep clear of any ignition sources, do not smoke when using product, avoid eye contact, do not allow product to enter drains, ensure prevention of electrostatic charging. To our knowledge the glue poses no health risk once the solvent has completely evaporated.
 
Disposal: Allow emptied buckets to dry out. Remove with other building site rubbish or recycle with scrap metal. Buckets containing liquid residual content to be disposed of as hazardous waste (waste code 080406).
